It doesn’t take long to start imagining everything you see through your camera’s eye. Some of these flowers are weeds, some are wild, some are carefully cultivated in gardens… but all of them caught my eye just as they might catch the attention of a bee or a bird or another important creature in their lifecycle. Flowers are arresting in colour, shape, and aroma. All these photos were taken in the last week. It’s hard not to be smitten, don’t you think?

Beautiful pictures. I have never understood who decides what is a weed and what is a flower? Is there some sort of tyrannical, botanical jury?

Oh it’s only about where they’re growing. đŸ™‚. What we call Scotch thistles are rampant weeds here but maybe in Scotland (assuming their name has anything to to do with their origin) they are welcome and admired.

They are lovely. Even the thistle has its own charm. I must ask my son the name of that little flower next to the rock.
The cotoneaster has been particularly prolific in its weedy flowering this year.

Beautiful! I know exactly what you mean – I often find myself looking at plants through a camera lens if my mind too and they all look so beautiful asymmetrical and different
