abigfatcanofworms Personal Reflection March 4, 2021 1 Minute

the gurus
conduct -
fingers circle
hover
prod
like batons

screens slip,
slide and
rotate
obediently

there should be
accompanying
chords:
dramatic
and aching;
or light, trippy 
ecstatic

but i bend
over
like an unhappy witch
with a cauldron
that won't bubble

i stoke the fire
in all those weird
21st Century ways
unplug
reboot
file
settings
swear word

but the fire
just smokes
sulkily
and doesn't
respond

  Yes. I think it’s a gene. Some people have an affinity with technology the way others have an affinity with animals. Sure younger people are more used to it. But people my age can go either way. 🙂
