Ha ha. Nicely said. I actually love old houses. When we came back from Indonesia in the ’80s my parents chose a 100 year old weatherboard cottage. Eventually they renovated and extended it keeping the style pretty faithfully. I think as an Australian, coming across something with a longer history is a bit rare and exciting. But I am also familiar with the intricate kind of pains that renovating brings before you achieve that creative satisfaction of which you speak.
