include the word smudge
Very good. I especially like this part, “insouciant minutes like sentences missing punctuation.”

I’m picturing just waiting forever in a doctor’s office before being called. Waiting is hard, but I love the comparisons you made—the missing punctuation line is clever!
I enjoyed reading this. It’s very beautifully penned and well written.
And you know what, I’m so oblivious. I missed the title lol. Gahhh, where is my head?

Ha ha ha. I am totally glad that you knew what it was about without the title. 😃. And thanks for your lovely comments!

Really impressed by this phrase, “whittle time, like a pencil tip” the whole poem is so creative and really evokes the mood of the waiting room. Well written!

I love the repetition of the lines:
‘the smudge of time
insouciant minutes
like sentences’
– they seem so insouciant of themselves, but for those who are waiting they can seem endless!

Insouciant is one of those words that sound like their meaning. Onomatopoeia of meaning rather than sound. Loved this!

*sigh* that sucks, Worms.
Not the poem – just the waiting.
