Hmmm. Interesting question. I didn’t really think about that as I wrote it. I think there is more than one noise. Clattering branches, sometimes whisper. Sometimes whoosh. It’s frustrating though, the last few weeks I haven’t heard the distinctive noise I love and associate with the river near my parents’ home. So maybe it’s seasonal.
I love that sound too. Though as you say it more like sounds. Sitting under a stand of casuarinas is like listening to music. The sounds ebb and swell in a mix of sharp and soft noises.
Especially a big stand of casuarinas. I love the whishing……

Lovely trees. We don’t have them in Sweden. There is something special about trees that is better than any pills.

noises – plural? not just one sort of noise?

Serious gossip or just casual casuarina chat?🙂

The gossip is the whispers. The chat is the clatter. The opera is the windsong.
