To Dad

Personal Reflection 1 Minute

Having read two other responses to the FOWC challenge “austere”, I couldn’t help joining in.

Here in Australia, today was Father’s Day so this one’s for Dad.

I know of a chap with a beard
who some think to be rather austere.
But his jokes are well told,
his wordplay’s quite bold
and The Mikado he’ll sing without fear.

    It isn’t Aust ‘ere,
    it’s called Oz,
    and the reason were
    proud is because,
    we like our beer
    ‘ere in Aust, ‘ere,
    that’s why we’re here,
    ‘ere in Oz.
