Canberra is a couple of hours from the coast. A family member has a holiday house down there. It is idyllic – set in a forest of spotted gums and with the roar of the sea audible.
Ahhh. It seems to call to many of us. I grew up on a small island in Indonesia. The sea near our house was a gentle playmate. Australian surf came as quite a shock. But I still love the beach for wandering and photography. This photo shows a very tame ocean though. 🙂

It sounds perfection. Peder and I were both raised within earshot of the ocean, so it’s almost as if we’re drawn toward the scent of salt water.
