bushfires, fiction, nature, Personal Reflection 1 Minute 

a crackle of cockatoos
& deafening smoke
feathers take on the gore
flint sharp, the white-hooked scream

    1. Thanks. This one wrote itself. I have no idea where any of it came from except the first line which was inspired by a book of “101 Collective Nouns” that my son was reading. I think it was actually a cackle of cockatoos but crackle sprang onto the page.
