Written for dVerse quadrille “zoom”
When that bald blue sky gets a comb-over I ask Papa about ears and cloud-tuck Papa says the sky don’t have ears. But hear cockies shriek! See galahs zoom and dusk unveil pink like a pigeons wing. There’s a sky with all its senses.
Pink pigeon wings … I must pay attention to that.

The pigeons I am thinking of are crested pigeons. Do you have those where you live? They have amazing iridescent colours in their wings.

I googled them, and no, they don’t live in the uk. They do look pretty.

Thanks, John
I think I would like to rewrite this without limiting myself to 44 words or needing the word zoom in it. I think it could be better than it is.

certainly, when you write to a prescription it is very limiting; haiku seems to be the exception ; look forward to the rewrite —

We do not have lovely pigeons such as those in New York City; they are more like winged rats.
